With the season now under way a major part of the early season calendar at Brockham Badgers is the now traditional Luke Holland Memorial trophy match.
This game is an important event in the Badgers’ calendar which serves as both a memorial to a young man who played football for Brockham Badgers as well as Ockley Acorns (now Dorking Wanderers) and also pays tribute to the work of the Surrey Air Ambulance.
This year the game will be contested between Brockham Badgers U16s and St Pauls Panthers U16s. Kick off will be at 4pm on Sunday October 1st at Brockham Recreation Ground.
The clubs involved are hoping for as big a crowd as possible, not only to create a fantastic atmosphere for those playing, but also to raise as much money as possible for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, a charity that receives no government funding and relies almost entirely upon the generosity of the general public.
Entry to the game is free, but we would request that all those attending make a donation to the Surrey Air Ambulance in the collection buckets that will be circulating at the game. Drinks will be served during and after the game in the Recreation Ground pavilion.
Please show your support for this worthy cause by joining Brockham Badgers and St Pauls Panthers at Brockham Recreation Ground on Sunday 1st October. This is a special event in the season which has become an occasion at which to socialise, catch up with old friends and enjoy the atmosphere of youth football played in the very best spirit of the game.
Anyone not able to attend on the day but wanting to make a donation to Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance can do so in the following ways:
