09.05.07  NEXT UP...BROCKHAM 07

The Bank Holiday weekend weather just held out....and around 200 boys and girls enjoyed the annual family and friends 5-a-side Funday on the Big Field.

Our season-ending scratch tournament proved once again that it is a uniquely enjoyable event for players and spectators, played in an atmosphere of encouragement and friendly competitiveness that can sometimes be missing from the grassroots game. Also, with Brockham Badgers as a club committed to promoting the development of girls in football, it was particularly pleasing to see an increased number of girls taking their place in mixed teams.

After the club's annual fun day, next up for the Badgers on the Big Field....it's our second open tournament - Brockham 07
Congratulations and thanks to Alison Robins and everyone who helped organise and run the event on the day, including the Dads who took on Manager roles.

In addition to all the volunteers who gave their time, the club is grateful to a number of local businesses for supporting the event:
J Chitty & Son,   The Royal Oak (Brockham),   Brockham Spar
The Hair Studio on Brockham Green,   Seymour Sports (Dorking)

Next up for the club, our highly acclaimed open World Cup tournament returns for a second year.
Brockham 07 iwill be even bigger than before. With many age groups filling up in just a couple of weeks, the tournament has been expanded and we will be welcoming no fewer than 168 teams to the Big Field on 16th and 17th June.

15.05.07  HALF-TERM COACHING

The Easter holiday coaching courses with the Badgers' affiliated coach, Nick Torpey, proved immensely popular.  For those who missed out, or who want to come along again, Nick will be running more sessions in the May Half-Term.

UEFA B licensed coach Nick has been training Brockham players across all age groups this season, and closely follows the Club's ethos of encouraging all players, whatever their standard, so that everyone can develop and fulfil their potential.

Pictures and a report from previous sessions are here.  The sessions run from 29th May to 1st June but are totally flexible - you only pay for the days you book.
