12.02.07  SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:  DORKING FC v PORTSMOUTH XI: BENEFIT MATCH FOR STEWART VAUGHAN

Brockham Badgers FC is the affiliated youth club for Dorking FC, the local senior football side.

With regret we announce that Dorking club captain Stewart Vaughan has recently been advised that he is suffering from a terminal illness. Stewart is 27 years old and has been with the club for six years. Before that he played also for Leatherhead and Croydon Athletic.
On Tuesday 27 February, Dorking will entertain a Portsmouth XI.  The Premiership club have readily agreed to send a side to Dorking's Meadowbank ground to play a benefit match for Stewart. Portsmouth will be led by their reserve team manager, ex-England and Arsenal captain Tony Adams.

Brockham Badgers FC are committed to supporting this benefit game, and players from the U10s, U11s and U12s will form a Guard of Honour to welcome the players onto the pitch. Prices on the night are £5 for adults and £3 for children.  Kick off is 7-30pm  at Dorking's Meadowbank ground in Mill Lane. Click here for directions.

Brockham Badgers' Management Committee would like to send its best wishes on behalf of the club to Stewart and his family. The Committee urges as many people as possible to come along, make the most of seeing some football stars in Dorking but - most importantly - support this worthy cause.
