02.07.06  BRAIN OF BROCKHAM

Congratulations to Oliver Goddard who has walked away with the prize of 120 lollipops and a signed Fulham shirt in today's Awards Presentation Quiz.

More than two hundred people attended the Annual Player Awards on Brockham's Recreation Ground this afternoon. And, despite the fiendishly difficult questions that left most stumped, Oliver scored a staggering 28 points out of a possible 29.  Only forgetting that Sol Campbell had once captained England (perhaps understandable?) stopped him getting full marks.

All the pictures from the Player Awards, and a full list of the winners will be here on the website in the next couple of days.

In the meantime, you can see all the Quiz answers, by clicking here.

06.07.06  AWARDS PHOTOS NOW ONLINE

With more than 80 trophies to recognise the achievements of a season, there was every chance that this year's Player Awards could be a ceremony to rival the Oscars. But, in just two hours on Brockham Rec, the curtain was brought down on the 2005-6 season in the traditional way.

More than 200 players, friends and families gathered in the blazing sun as the traditional awards (Golden Boot, Player of the Year, Players' Player and Most Improved Player) were handed out to every yeargroup from the U7s to U16s.

Almost a hundred pictures from the event have been uploaded to the photo site Flickr.  Click here to see them all.

20.07.06  NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE

Brockham Badgers will field an Under 17 side next season - for only the second time in the Club's history.

After a tremendous season, culminating in a Cup Final and Runners Up spot in the League, the Under 16s had built up such a tremendous team spirit that the lad's simply didn't want to give it up. So, even though the U16 has traditionally been the time when our squads part company, manager Roger Bayliss and his team have decided to stay together and give it one more year as an Under 17 squad. We wish them even greater success for the forthcoming season.

And with teams now playing from Under 7s right up to Under 17s - and Brockham Girls also looking forward to their first season of League competition, it promises to be a busy season, maintaining the Badgers' current record levels of 320 registered players across all age groups.

You can read all the action here on the website each week, once the season gets underway. In the meantime, Roger Bayliss has compiled a review of the U16s' 2005-06 season. You can read it by clicking here.

Happy Together!
The U16s have decided to play on as only the second Brockham Badgers U17 team ever!
