12.03.06  REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL

On the weekend of the Annual Dinner Dance, the boys did their best to ensure their parent-supporters would have plenty of reasons to get up and dance in suitably celebratory fashion. Five wins, three draws and just two defeats gave the Badgers a strong showing in some thrilling matches, across the age groups.

Amongst the pick of the wins, the U9 (Whites) turned on the style with a 3-1 victory over runaway league leaders Albury Eagles (who had only conceded five goals all season). The U13As took their 'goals for' tally to 89, after putting nine past Ashtead without reply. There were also wins for the U13Bs, U11As and U9 (Blues).

Reasons to be Cheerful - 1,2,3.
The U9 (Whites) put three goals past the Tadworth League's meanest defence, in their best performance of the season.

In some nerve-jangling draws, the U14As shared eight goals with Halsford Lions, whilst credit goes to the U9 (Reds) who came back from two goals down and grabbed a last-gasp equaliser against high-flying Milford.

19.03.06  CHAMPIONS!

Congratulations to the U8 (Blues), who have clinched the Tadworth League B title in their first season of competitive football. Their 3-1 win at Walton Wasps wrapped up the championship with two games to spare.

Elsewhere, Brockham Badgers teams across all the age groups are enjoying some fantastic form as we approach the business-end of the season. In sixteen games this weekend, the Badgers have claimed no fewer than eleven victories, with just two defeats (including a narrow 0-1 ending the U13As amazing thirteen-game, season-long unbeaten run).

In difficult conditions, the U12As claimed a 2-1 victory over Maidenbower to maintain their second place in the league, with four games to play.

No wonder they're smiling (mostly!)...
The U8s can celebrate a league title for their Blue squad with two games still to play.

In a real six-pointer, the U11As earned an away win at second-placed Ockley Acorns, and are now just three points behind them with a game in hand. Meanwhile the U11 (Blacks) had an away win at Horsham Tigers, and leapfrogged them into third place in the Horsham U11D division. There were also wins for the U14As and Bs, U13Bs, Brockham Girls, all three U10 squads and the U8 (Reds).

A terrific weekend's results for the club!

22.03.06  ANNUAL FIVE-A-SIDE FUNDAY RETURNS!

It's back!  The annual end-of-eason celebration - the Five-a-Side Funday will take place on the Big Field on Sunday 30th April 2006.

Once again, all players, friends and family are welcome to come along and take part in fun tournaments made up of scratch-teams in all age groups from U7s to U16s. (Not to be confused with our new World Cup 6-a-side in June, which will welcome clubs from throughout the southern counties in competitive action).

Get the date in your diary - registration details will be sent out soon and posted here on the site for anyone who wants to join in.

The club also needs help to get the day running smoothly - not just from Managers and Committee members - but from anyone connected to the club in any way.  If you'd like to get more involved in Brockham Badgers - here's a chance to get started - register your interest by following the link below:

26.03.06  MIXED FORTUNES

In a must-win end-of-season game, the U9 (Whites) played their best football of the year to storm to a convincing 3-0 victory over Walton Warriors. However, results elsewhere meant they missed out on a place in the Tadworth Champions League by just a single point. Nevertheless the boys can be immensely proud of both their performance this weekend and their third-place finish to the season.

There were mixed fortunes too for the other Brockham teams in action. The U11As had a fantastic 5-1 home win over Heron Way to put them just three points off the promotion places with a game in hand - whilst it was honours-even in the battle for second place between the U12As and Roffey Robins. There was also a good away win at Roffey for the U11 (Whites) to give them a real chance of beating relegation in their final league game. However, there was no such luck for their U11 (Black) colleagues who came up against a rampant Lingfield Youth (goal difference +113!).

Saving the best for last...the U9 (Whites) turn in their performance of the year to end the league programme with a convincing first-ever win over Walton.

The U13As surrendered top spot in the Epsom and Ewell Premier Division after being held to a draw at Oxshott (although they still have a game in hand), but there were good wins for the U15s, both U14 sides and the U8 (Blues), crowned champions of their league last week and now six points clear at the top.
