26.02.06 BLOWING COLD AND HOT
In some of the bitterest conditions of the season so far, Brockham Badgers teams ground out results throughout the southern counties. As the northerly wind sept across the Big Field, there were good home wins for the U15s (their eighth league success in a row!) and the U12As. The U10Bs and U8 (Blues) notched up away wins.
But 'result of the day' goes to the U9 (Reds). After seven previous Tadworth League fixtures, they recorded their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory. The only downside of the result was that it came in a local derby - meaning defeat for another of our sides, the U9 (Whites).
05.02.06 TRIBUTES TO STUART
An estimated 400-500 people gathered on the Big Field at 11am on Sunday, to pay their respects to Stuart Attridge, whose tragic loss last weekend, whilst playing for Brockham Green FC (the senior side linked to the Badgers), has shocked the entire club and the community.
In an emotional but dignified occasion, a square was formed around an elegant floral tribute. Dorking RFC, who share facilities at the Big Field, suspended their matches and joined Stuart's family, friends and colleagues lining the football pitch. A minute's silence was observed throughout the Big Field.
On Saturday, matches involving a Brockham Badgers team home and away, from the U9s to the U16s, were also preceded by a minute's rememberance.
The thoughts of everyone associated with Brockham Badgers remain with Stuart's family.
10.02.06 WORLD CUP COMES TO BROCKHAM!
20.02.06 HALF HALF-TERM FOR EPSOM LEAGUE TEAMS
While most of the Brockham squads enjoyed two weekends free of competitive action, our teams in the Epsom and Ewell Leagues had just half a holiday. The U10s played at the start of the half-term break, whilst the U13s got back into action yesterday....and were well rewarded for their efforts with a 9-1 victory.
