It's sweet
revenge for the U10Cs.
04.12.05 TOPPING
TABLES AND TURNING TABLES
Congratulations to the U16s who moved
to the top of the table in the Hosham and District Youth League with
a home victory over Haslford Lions. Brockham Badgers has another table
topping side - the U8 (Blues). Their 4-2 victory over Mickleham ensure
they remain in front in the Tadworth League B.
Overall, there were seven victories for Brockham teams this
weekend - including the U15s, U13As, U13Bs and U12As. Especially well
done to the U10Cs who turned the tables on Stoneleigh. Just over
a month ago, Stoneleigh came to the Big Field and inflicted a
9-1 defeat on a depleted Brockham team. This time, in the return fixture,
despite going a goal down, the Badgers came back to claim revenge
in a 4-2 away win.
Even those Brockham sides that failed to
win this weekend had reason to feel proud - with some narrow and glorioius
defeats across the agegroups. Special mention goes to the U11 (Blacks)
who only lost after conceding two very late goals against Lingfield,
the most free-scoring team in their League. Right up to the final
minute, the Badgers were heading for a hard-fought 1-1 draw against
a side who scored no fewer than 18 goals in their last game and had
knocked up a goal difference of plus 71 in just six matches! Well
done to the U11 (Blacks) - and better luck next time.
07.12.05 WATCH
F.A. VASE CUP ACTION FOR FREE - THIS WEEKEND
Brockham Badgers is the
affiliated youth club of Dorking FC. This weekend there's a chance
for all Brockham players to watch the senior side in action for free
- in the prestigious national non-league cup competition, the
FA Vase.
Dorking take on Christchurch at Meadowbank in
Mill Lane at 3pm on Saturday 10th December. Brockham players - along
with all brothers, sisters and friends under 16 - will be
admitted through the gate for free, as long as they are accompanied
by a paying adult. (Adults tickets are £6, with concessions for
OAPs).
It's a good
way for Badgers' players to watch a competitive non-league match at
close quarters. The final of this season's FA Vase is scheduled to
be the first match at the new Wembley in 2006 - so why not go along
and cheer Dorking a step closer!

11.12.05 EPSOM RACERS
Top
of the league and having a laugh...well done to the U13As, the first
Brockham Badgers team to play in the Epsom and Ewell Youth League
- and now sitting pretty at the top of the Premier Division, courtesy
of a 9-0 win at Roundshaw Colts.
The club has been keen to take
part in the tough competition of the Surrey-based league and the early-season
success of the U13As suggests they're certainly up to it. Of course,
there's still a long way to go but, with a one hundred percent record
in their first seven matches and a goal difference of +39, there's
every reason to look forward to the rest of the league campaign.
It's long trousers for the U9s, as many matches fall victim
to icy pitches.
Brockham's U11 Girls
also gave the club something to cheer on Sunday, taking part in only
their second game of the season and recording their first win - and
excellent 2-0 home victory over Old Walcountians.
Elsewhere,
on Saturday, the league programme was decimated by the iced-up pitches.
For those Brockham sides who did get a game in the frosty conditions,
it was something of a cold comfort, with only one victory in
the Horsham League - courtesy of the U15s win over Partridge Green.
13.12.05 DINNER

18.12.05 CHRISTMAS
CHEERS
There were plenty of reasons to celebrate Christmas both
on and off the pitch this weekend.
It was a limited league programme,
but Brockham Badgers recorded three excellent wins and recorded just
one defeat in the last games of the year.
Leading the way -
the U11As with an excellent 7-0 away win at Horsham Sparrows. There
were also good away wins for the U12As (7-1 at Steyning) and the U13Bs
(5-1 at Upper Beeding).
With Christmas approaching, the action on the Big Field
was sparse - but there was no shortage of goals.
The U10Bs also had
reason to take pride in the final performance of 2005. Playing the
team from the top of the Division above, in a cup game, the U10s took
the lead in the first few seconds - and eventually earned a replay
with a 2-2 draw.
Elsewhere, the action was just as competitive,
but not quite as skilled - as the U9s and U8s enjoyed the traditional
Lads v Dads matches. It was a close affair for the U9 (Whites) - and
only a three-times taken penalty in the dying seconds separated the
boys from the men. (Take a look at the pictures to work out which
was which!)

to Barca in the annual Lads v Dads clash.
