03.10.05 YOUNG
GUNS BLAZING!
Some of Brockham's youngest players entered the fray
this weekend, as the Tadworth League (for U8 and U9s) kicked off -
with some excellent performances by the Badgers.
A tricky first
match away to last year's convincing champions, Priory Panthers, ended
in joy for the U9 (Whites) - they came back from conceding
an early goal to triumph 4-2.
And there was plenty to cheer
in the Under 8s, playing their first league matches, as both Brockham
teams came from behind to overcome opposition from Tadworth 3-2.
The
Under 10s continued their fine form against some top quality sides
in the Epsom and Ewell League. Four games into their season, and the
A and C teams are still unbeaten.
Champs are Chumped!
The U9 (Whites) - wearing green tops - kick off their season by overcoming
last year's champions 4-2.
09.10.05 WHO'S COUNTING?
It's Arsene
Wenger who wants extra points for high scoring games...but it would
certainly have benefited the Badgers this weekend.
The U13As
were visitors at Ashtead Colts and netted no fewer than eleven
times - coming away with an 11-1 victory and top spot in
the Epsom and Ewell Premier Division.
It was one of two matches where
the ref had to take off his boots to keep count of the goals
- on the Big Field, the U14Bs soared past Cranleigh
Hawks 15-0!
Meanwhile the U14As travelled to Billingshurst
and ran away 9-1 winners.
Golden Boots...and golden goals...as U14B run up a cricket score against
Cranleigh.
Elsewhere, the weekend
saw battling performances and some strong results across the
age groups. The U10As continued their unbeaten start in the Epsom
and Ewell League with a 3-1 away victory, and the U15s fought back
after going behind to a penalty to earn a draw at Horsham Sparrows.

CUP FEVER
The Badgers took the first steps on the long road to Cup
glory this weekend, with seven teams involved in First Round clashes.
There
was to be no giantkilling this year. Both U12 sides survived
against lower league opposition - the U12As beating unlucky Ockley
Acorns 17-1. (Er - what happened with the '1' guys?)
The U16s
and and U11As are also safely through to Round Two. The U14s,
U13Bs and U11 (Whites) all met higher-placed opposition and will have
to try again next year.
It's just like watching Norwich!
The U12Bs avoid being dazzled by the opposition and join three
other Brockham teams in the next round of the Cup.
Elsewhere,
the U10As remained unbeaten in the Epsom and Ewell League, but still
had cause to be slightly disappointed after surrendering a three-goal
lead. The U10 B and C sides both notched up victories to continue
their strong starts to the season.
23.10.05 HOME
IS WHERE THE HURT IS
With the start of half-term, games on the Big
Field were scarce - but home points were even harder to find.
It
was glum faces all round for the U9 (Whites) and U10C's who have both
had strong starts to the season, but crashed to heavy home defeats
this weekend. Saturday's bright spot came from the U9 (Blues) who
gave a determined performance to gain Brockham's only home victory.
There was more joy for the Badgers away from the Big Field.
The U10As made it five wins in a row on their travels, as they beat NPL
Youth 4-0 in the Epsom and Ewell League.
Some big losses on the Big Field - but delight away from home
for the U10As, as they find the net four times, without reply.

HALLOWEEN THRILLERS
It was thrills all the way - and very few
horrors - for the Badgers teams in action this weekend.
Some
exciting end-to-end matches produced some equally excellent results
across the club. The Big Field saw no fewer than five home victories
- and just a single defeat.
In a weekend of great performances,
it's hard to pick out particular results - but special mention goes
to the U12As, who ran away 4-0 winners against table-toppers Roffey
Robins. The U15s enjoyed a good 4-1 victory against Horsham Tigers
and the best awayday was at Steyning, where the U16s were 6-1 winners.
Determination from the U13Bs made them one of six Brockham
teams to earn victory in a strong weekend for the Club.
