THE BOYS ARE BACK
Pre-season friendlies, stretching exercises, newly
enthused coaches and an air of optimism were in abundance on the Big
Field today - as squads returned from the Summer break to begin preparations
for the new season. The friendly games produced some mixed results
across the age groups, but helped the coaches get the measure of their
squads for the coming year.
You'll be able to keep up-to-date with the
results and read match reports once the league games get underway
by checking back to www.brockhambadgersfc.co.uk each week.

A FINE START
The weather was good...the result was better, as the Under
11a team opened their season with a 10-0 win over Hurstpierpoint.
The result was a terrific achievement - not only was it the team's
first match of the season, but it was also their first-ever league game
playing 11-a-side and full-rules.
Commiserations to Hurstpierpoint
who are bound to enjoy better days as the season progresses.
Other
high-scoring games on Saturday produced mixed fortunes for Brockham
teams. The U11 (White) and U13b matches each produced 13 goals -
unfortunately both ending in defeats for Brockham. Meanwhile,
there were ten goals as the U15s went to Billingshurst and shared
the points in a 5-5 draw.
The U11s
launch another raid down the wings on their way to an amazing 10-0
win in their first game with full 11-a-side teams.

GOALFEST!
Congratulations to the U15s and U14As, who achieved the results
of the weekend - slamming in no fewer than 28 goals between them,
without reply. The U15s won 13-0 at West Chiltington and U14A
were runaway 15-0 victors at Broadbridge Heath.
Some good results
too for the U13Bs and U14Bs, who both bounced back from disappointing
heavy defeats on the opening day of the season to record a win. The
U13s beat Copthorne 5-2 on the Big Field, whilst the U14s won by the
same scoreline in a midweek fixture at Ewhurst.
The U13As fought
back from 3-1 down with six minutes to go to beat South Park 6-3 -
making it two wins out of two in their first season against the tough
opposition of the Epsom and Ewell League.
The U15s -
one of the rare occasions when the ball wasn't in the opposition net!

NOT SO SWEET HOME
Home may be where the heart is - but there weren't
many points to be found there this weekend.
In six
home league matches for Brockham teams, the U16s and U10Bs
recorded wins, but the U14Bs, U12Bs U11 White and Blacks all
suffered defeats at the Big Field.
Badgers enjoyed more
success on their travels. Result of the week came courtesy of
the U15s, who tamed the Cranleigh Lions with a 9-2 thrashing. U10As
won 3-0 at Bookham to make it three wins in a row mixing it with
the tough opposition of the Epsom and Ewell League. Commiserations
to U11A, who lost their 100% record in their first season of the 11-a-side
game, narrowly losing at Broadbridge Heath.
U10Bs battling to victory -
one of just two teams to pick up points at home this weekend.
