After the narrowest
of defeats in the opening game, when we conceded an unfortunate own-goal
in the dying seconds against the eventual tournament winners, our
boys won four consecutive games to end runners up - missing out on
first place by just one point.
At times our football was
simply spectacular. Andy Kehl, Jack Stradling and Daniel Mahony formed
an intelligent, exciting attacking unit and scored some breath-taking
goals.
At the back Toby Hunt, Adam Moriarty and Tom Killner battled
well to earn three clean sheets. Andrew Kensett went in goal after
the first match and only let in one goal in four games, looking
composed and confident.
My player of the tournament though is
Jack Stradling. Jack played REALLY well and scored seven magnificent
goals - one a trademark, unstoppable free-kick from distance. He is
becoming a formidable centre forward, watch this space -
well done!

Report by Graham Brockwell
The
Brockham 'B' team had an early success, winning their first match,
and settled down to some good attacking football supported by
some solid defending. Despite their best efforts, they were held to
few draws but eventually won their final match. Overall
though, unbeaten in five games is a great effort.
James Hawkins
led the attack which included Michael Brockwell, Laurence
Dean, Louis Clark and Ollo Hounsfield. Our strong defensive unit
consisted of Alfie Edwards, Jamie Addison, Arran Hoad and Michael
Tsmekis. Although the players swapped places and positions during the
day, they kept up a good attacking game with neat passing
and numerous attempts at goal.
My player of the tournament for
the 'B' team is Michael Tsimekis for leading a strong defence and
providing good support to the forward players. Well done
Michael.
