An exciting fourteen-team tournament up
at Tadworth, saw Brockham U8 (Reds) play an incredible seven
games without conceding a single goal, only to have the heartbreak
of losing in the Cup Final in a sudden death penalty shoot-out, after
taking narrow winners Chinthurst A all the way in a nailbiting finale.
There
were outstanding performances from the whole team. Tommy Gill's courageous
goalkeeping... Michael Tsimekis and Toby Hunt formed an invincible defensive
unit...Andy Kehl and Tom Killner commanded the midfield... Adam Moriarty
and Harrison Cain used the flanks well... but, for me, the player
of the tournament was Jack Stradling with five goals in an awesome
display. Well played all of you!
In the other half of the Tournament
(which I wasn't able to watch) the U8 (Blues) did almost as well but
didn't quite make the Plate Final after narrowly being beaten on penalties
in the semi. Again, well played!
