TO TAKE ON THE WORLD
Why
wait four years for the World Cup? After last year's highly successful
inaugural event, Brockham Badgers FC is bringing its World Cup 6-a-side
Youth Football Tournament back this year. Brockham 07 is on 16th and
17th June - and registration is open now.
Over 140 teams, 1200
young players and up to 2500 spectators will descend onto
the Big Field in Brockham, near Dorking, for two days of
football in the picturesque shadow of the North Downs.
Brockham
07 is an open event for clubs primarily throughout Sussex and
Surrey - although after the success of last year's event, enquiries
about attendance this year have been received from as far afield as
Germany!
There will be eight boys age groups, from Under 8s to
Under 15s. Brockham Badgers FC is also keen to help the development
of girls' football in the region so, once again, the Tournament will
also include four girls age groups - U9/10s, U11/12s, U13/14s and
U15/16s.
Brockham Badgers FC was formed over a quarter of a century
ago and has since swelled to become one of the largest youth football
clubs in the area. More than 300 boys and girls currently play
and train in the club's distinctive black-and-white striped kit each
week.
Like last year, Brockham 07 is more than just a football
tournament - it's a day out for the whole family. Taking place in beautiful,
spacious surroundings on National Trust land, the Tournament is an
ideal opportunity for families to pitch a gazebo and bring a picnic
- and there is also high quality, healthy catering on site with
an all-day BBQ and Deli-bar, as well as free squash for all players.
There's plenty to do as well. Fulham FC's Community Team will
return with the Speed Cage. They'll be joined by the Adidas Pro Tour,
Face Painting and more activities still to be announced.
The Big Field in Brockham, at the foot of the North
Downs, provides a most picturesque location for combining youth football
with a family day out.
