AT LAST....
24 January 2010

It's been six weeks - but, after the snow caused a rather extended Christmas break, Brockham Badgers finally got back to playing football this weekend.

And it was certainly worth the wait for the the U12As. They visited Horsham Crusaders and confirmed their place at the top of the table with a 14-0 win. Read Man of the Match, Adam Moriarty's report here.

Elsewhere, the U14As made it through to the quarter finals of the Surrey County Cup, with a 3-1 win over Kingstonian Youth.

In the league, the U13Bs moved to the top of their division with an 8-2 victory at Holmbury, whilst only a late equaliser from the spot prevented the U13As (pictured) from getting off to a winning start in 2010. Both U15 sides were in action on the Big Field - and both shook the rust out of their joints to come away with three points.

Finally, this is a big week in the development of Brockham Badgers. A new structure is introduced for managing the club - to create better communication and sustainable development for the future. Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to join the new management bodies - particularly the parent-representatives on the Events Team - and good luck! More details here soon.

WHO ATE ALL THE (MINCE) PIES?
4 January 2010

The Dad's did. And it rather showed in the New Year Lads v Dads match on the Big Field.

Despite early pressure from the U13 Lads, it was the Dads who raced into an early 2-0 lead - although the Lads soon came back to nose ahead 3-2 at half-time. By the end of the match, fitness (and the extra helping of trifle) began to tell as four goals in the last five minutes gave the Lads a convincing 8-3 victory - and a scoreline that better reflected the possession and ability!

Meanwhile, the first U10 training session of the new year came to a temporary halt on Saturday, as two hot air balloons glided just over the roof tops on Brockham Lane before coming to a halt by the side of the pitch. Team Manager Nick Torpey was on hand to capture the action!
