ABACUS AT THE READY....
27 October 2009

The Ref could have been forgiven for calling for an abacus as the U10As chalked up Brockham's biggest win of the season so far. They hosted Tadworth League opponents, Woodmansterne Hyde, on the Big Field - and came away 20-1 winners.

Setting another record, the players were rotated throughout the match, meaning that every member of the squad got their name on the scoresheet - including the keeper.

The U10As: Scoring for fun

Commiserations to Woodmansterene Hyde, who were spirited and sporting, continuing to compete right to the final whistle.

Elsewhere, the U15Bs and U13As appear to have turned a corner, after difficult starts. They both followed up their first league wins with a second successive victory. The U15Bs were 3-0 winners over North Holmwood Athletic, whilst the U13As had a 9-2 win at Corinthian Casuals, the oldest football club in Britain.

WINNING WAYS
19 October 2009

After a slow start to the season, no fewer than four Badgers teams chalked up a first win this weekend.

The U18 Royals, U16As, U15Bs and U13As have all had a difficult first few weeks - but their hard work paid off with convincing victories.

Meanwhile, the U13Bs maintained their 100% start to the season with a 7-0 home win over Maidenbower.

The U15 Girls dropped their first points, after being held to a 1-1 draw by Shelton Athletic Ladies - but can take comfor from the fact they remain top of the Surry County Girls First Division.

Elsewhere, there were wins for the U15As and U10As.

U13s MAKE THEIR POINT
13 October 2009

It's been a tough start to the season for the U13As since gaining promotion to the Surrey Youth League Premier. Three games had yet to produce any points - but the boys will be hoping they can kick-start a climb up the league following a battling 2-2 draw at Chelsea United on Sunday.

Similarly, the U16As have had a slow start after promotion in the Horsham & District League. But

The U13As - off and running in the Surrey Youth Premier

an excellent 5-0 win at Upper Beeding in the second round of the League Cup signals better things to come.

By contrast, the U14Bs have had a storming start - unbeaten in the Epsom and Ewell First Division. But it was back down to earth with a bump this weekend, slipping to a 2-1 defeat at Stoneleigh.

And let's hear it for the Girls. Brockahm's U15 Girls are early league leaders in the Surrey County Girls Division One, after a 4-1 win at Kingstonian.

YOU WIN SOME...YOU LOSE SOME
5 October 2009

Eighteen teams in action ...half won, half lost... with some fantastic matches as the season moved into its second month.

Game of the weekend was the Surrey Youth League Cup match between the U14As and AFC Wimbledon. The league clash between the two teams ended in a narrow 2-1 defeat a couple of weeks ago.

The U14As - Cup hopes dashed by AFC Wimbledon

This time, AFC won more convincingly by 4-1, but the Badgers can take pride in the fact that a community team is competing regularly against one of the top elite clubs in the South.

Elsewhere, U18 Athletic came out on top in the Surrey Youth League derby against U18 Royals. The U9As made it two wins out of two at the start of the Tadworth League season with a 2-1 victory over Albury Eagles. The U13As kick started their season with a Surrey County Cup victory. And there were also wins for the U15 Girls, U15As, U14Bs, U12As, U11As and U10As.
