Four young referees had a pleasant surprise when they were each presented with a cheque from a local company that sponsored them through their referee coaching. The generous donation came from the Dorking-based chartered surveyors and architects, Brodie Plant Goddard.
Badgers's Chairman Grant Ashley commented, “With an ever growing shortage of referees, we decided to use this money to put four of our older players, at the end of their youth football careers, through an intensive refereeing course which will help keep them involved with the club and continue their interest in football."
Grant added, "It’s great when a local company recognises the enormous community benefits from supporting a project or organisation in the area. We are very grateful to Chris Bula and the other Directors of Brodie Plant Goddard."
Brodie Plant Goddard offer a wide range of construction-related professional services to the housing, education, commercial and public sectors. They provide expert advice in the fields of design, building and quantity surveying, project management and CDM Co-ordination, with a strong emphasis on sustainable development across London and the South East.

The spread of their work ranges from disabled adaptations with a value of £15,000 up to a five year partnering arrangement under the government’s Decent Homes Programme that now exceeds £40million. The majority of their commissions are, however, for projects with a value of between £250,000 and £5million - covering new build, repair, adaptation and refurbishment projects. |

It was also a good weekend for the U13s - the A team coming back from two goals down to beat Hampton & Richmond Borough 6-3, and the Bs cruising to a 5-0 win at Dorkinians. |

TWO BAD
6 December 2009 |
Just three of thirteen fixture's survived this weekend's latest deluge - with, unfortunately, two of the games ending in narrow defeats.
The U13As faced top class opposition from Hampton & Richmond Borough Juniors in the Surrey County Cup - and, despite being edged out of the competition, they could come away with their heads held high. |
