NAIL BITING TIME
30 March 2009 |
Do the boys have any idea what they put the parents through?
With little more than a month of league action to go, it's tense at the top. And the nails of Badgers' coaches and parents are starting to show the strain.
Both the U11 Comets and U9As have finished their league matches, but they face a long wait to discover if they'll be celebrating this year. |

The U9As went into their final game knowing that a win would guarantee them the Tadworth League title. Unfortunately, they slipped to a narrow defeat and must now wait nervously on the results of two rivals to see if they'll stay at the top of the table. The U11 Comets signed off in style with a 12-0 win over North Holmwood. But they must also wait to find out if it's enough to secure second place and promotion in the Horsham League.
Either way - it's been a tremendous season for both teams and they can be proud of their football.
Meanwhile, the U12As strengthened their grip on the Surrey Youth League First Division with a 7-2 win at AFC Epsom Colts. But with six games still to play, there's plenty more nail chewing to be done before the title comes to the Badgers.

23 March 2009 |
A number of Brockham teams are challenging for honours this season, but the U10 Whites are the first Badgers across the winning line.

As we approach the business end of the season, there are exciting times ahead for the U16Bs, who came through a nail-biting penalty shoot-out against Steyning to book a place in the Horsham & District Plate Final. Well done to Kieran Mackrell, Jonny Sourris, Oli Goddard, Nathan Crosbie and Andy Higgins who all scored from the spot - and to goalie Will Hern who saved the first of Steyning's penalties. Congratulations also to captain George Nazer who did a great job keeping the team positive and supportive of those taking the penalties. Click here to relive the tension in pictures.
Rounding off a hatrick of top notch results for the Badgers this week, the U14As have also booked a place in the Horsham & District Plate Final, with a 3-2 win at Heron Olympic.

BADGERS TURN UP HEAT IN SURREY
18 March 2009 |
The Badgers are making their mark in the Surrey Youth League - and two excellent performances from the U13s and U12s turned up the heat on their leadership rivals.
Ther U13As cemented their place in the top three of the Surrey Youth League's best division, the Premier Elite, with a 3-1 win at Epsom Eagles. While the U12As put cup disappointment behind them with a 5-1 victory over Cheam Rangers. The win moves them to |

just a point behind the Division 1 leaders, with two games in hand.
Elsewhere, the U12Bs notched up a 1-0 win over East Grinstead Means, described by manager Jason Hughes as the best result in his two years of coaching the team - fantastic football with every boy playing well.

PLAYING CATCH UP
10 March 2009 |
After a winter of floods and blizzards, the fixtures are coming thick and fast as some of our teams catch up in the postponed matches.
And the U13As took full advantage of two games in three days to close the gap on the leaders. Two wins, including one under the floodlights at Dorking FC's Meadowbank stadium, brought six points and second place in the table. |

Amongst the best performances of the weekend, the U14As overcame higher league opponents to book a place in the semi-final of the Horsham and District U14 Plate. The nU16Bs are also into the semis of the Plate with a 3-1 win over Reigate Priory, Credit too to the U12Bs, who exited the Plate competition in the quarter finals - but can take great pride in their performance against a team three divisions higher.
And the U9As got their push for the Tadworth League title back on track, coming from behind to win 3-1 at Redhill St Joseph's.

RECORDS TUMBLE
2 March 2009 |
It was a weekend when there was no shortage of endeavour - but precious few points. And as luck deserted the Badgers, our last two 100% records bit the dust.
With eight straight wins this season, the U12Bs needed just one more to wrap up the Horsham & District D League title. They went to Royal United but, in an eight goal thriller, lost 5-3. |

The U11As - one of just three Brockham teams to enjoy a win this weekend.
|
And in the Tadworth League, the U10 Whites also dropped their first points of the season as they were held to a draw at Mogador Rangers.
There were wins for the U16As (at Sutton United), the U14 Girls and the U11 Comets. Elsewhere, although the results didn't go according to plan, many of the performances did.
