INVITATION TO ALL PARENTS:
Come and Discuss Important Plans for the Development of Brockham Badgers FC

Annual General Meeting
Tuesday 7th July at 8pm
Upstairs at Dorking Rugby Club,
The Big Field

Thirty years ago this month, Brockham Badgers FC was founded, with 50 boys playing in 3 teams.

Today we have 300 boys and girls and 20 teams!  We have engaged fully qualified and professional coaches for the first time, run several events throughout the season and host one of the biggest football tournaments in the south of England.

At the same time, we are determined to preserve our community ethos, providing regular sport for as many boys and girls who want it, whatever their ability. We also have one of the lowest annual membership fees of any youth football club in Surrey and Sussex.

To sustain all this, in the way we would all like, now requires a substantial restructuring of the club’s organisation. We have proposals that will affect every age group, every team and every parent.

Please come and join us at the Annual General Meeting, to find out what is being proposed.

All managers, coaches and parents of players are urged to come along. Simply listen – or have a say. If you know other parents in your age group, please get them to come along as well.

After 30 years of growth, help us sustain the future of Brockham Badgers FC for our children – and the generations to come.

I very much hope to see you there.

Grant Ashley
Chairman, Brockham Badgers FC

BROCKHAM 09: THANK YOU
14 June 2009

The sun shone...the FA Cup (yes - the real one!) came...and 192 teams enjoyed a fantastic weekend of football.

We'd like to say thank you very much to every boy and girl who came along to play, all their friends and family who made it such a lively family day out, our sponsors and supporters, and especially all the Brockham parents, relatives and friends who gave their time voluntarily to help run the event.

It couldn't happen without you.

From Wednesday evening, the Brockham 09 microsite will be fully updated with dozens of pictures from the event, scores from every game and final group league tables.

BROCKHAM 09: THE CHAIRMAN LOOKS FORWARD
6 June 2009

"Another year has flown by and the team at Brockham Badgers FC are ready to launch another spectacular tournament; our fourth one on the bounce.  This is special year for our club. It was formed in 1979 and therefore we're celebrating our 30th anniversary. So we hope to provide a memorable experience for all those attending Brockham 09 - both from the Badgers and the visiting teams."
Grant Ashley, Chairman

With just a week to go to Brockham 09, our major fundraising event of the year, Brockham Badgers' Chairman, Grant Ashley has been looking forward to our fourth annual tournament and talking about how important it is for the future development of the club.

Nearly 200 teams will be visiting Brockham over the weekend of 13/14 June for an event that has swiftly established itself as one of the leading South of England youth football tournaments. Whilst the aim is to provide a quality, fun day that everyone will remember - Brockham 09 is also very important to the club's finances.

It helps pay our substantial running costs - such as the fees paid to Dorking Rugby Club and Mole Valley District Council for pitches to provide football for 300 boys and girls every week. It also supports a number of long-term projects that will secure the future of Brockham Badgers.

You can read Grant Ashley's message about the tournament here.
