FOOTBALL MAKES WAY FOR ARK BUILDING
15 December 2008 |
With the rain falling until the River Mole burst its banks, it's no surprise that the majority of games were washed out this weekend.
Only two matches survived the torrential downpours.
The U14Bs and U10 Blues both beat the weather - but neither could beat their opponents!

The U10s (in dryer days!)...one of just two teams who managed to play in the atrocious weather.

MAKING A POINT
7 December 2008 |
The 100% record has gone. After seven straight wins at the start of the season, the U16Bs were held to a 3-3 draw by Ashington Cougars on the Big Field. But with Ashington a close rival for the Horsham & District league title, the Badgers can still take pride in a good point earned.
The U13Bs came close to surrendering their own perfect start to the season. They were pegged back three times by South Park, before two late goals gave them a 5-3 victory and made it seven wins out of seven.
Elsewhere, the U14 Girls beat Merstham 3-2, the U14As were winners at Cranleigh Tigers and, in the Surrey Youth League, the U16As had a good 3-1 win over Sutton United Youth.

WINNING ALMOST BECOMES A HABIT
1 December 2008 |
The U11 Meteors have waited two years for a win....and then two come along at once.
After last week's history-making victory, the boys have only gone and done it again! And this time they were away. A neck and neck match at Royal United ended with a 3-2 win for the Badgers...and a grand total of six points.

The U16Bs are no strangers to victory either. Their 4-0 win over Heron Olympic makes it no fewer than seven wins out of seven games in the Horsham and District League this season. The U13Bs also maintained their 100% record in the Epsom and Ewell Second Division, with a sixth consecutive win.
Congratulations to the U12As (pictured above), who have moved into the semi-finals of the Surrey Youth League Invitation Cup with a 3-2 win at AFC Epsom.
And in one of the most bizarre happenings of a weekend, the U9As took a 1-0 lead at Hearts of Teddlothian...only to find they were actually playing their U10s. The game was re-started against the correct opposition - only for the Badgers to suffer a narrow one-goal defeat.
