The Badgers' first competitive game of the new season will be the third annual Luke Holland Memorial Trophy match.
Once again, the game will be played between the U16s of Brockham Badgers and Ockley Acorns, the two clubs Luke played for, in celebration and commemoration of our much missed friend.
The match will be hosted at Dorking FC's Meadowbank Stadium, this Sunday 5th September, kicking off under the floodlights at 7pm. Luke's Dad, Neil Holland, will be refereeing the game, with the winning team being awarded the Luke Holland Memorial Trophy, which they will hold for the coming season.
The memorial match has been established as the annual season curtain raiser for the Badgers and the Acorns.
Both clubs are hoping for as many families from all age groups to attend as possible. Whilst not forgetting the tragic events it marks, the match will be an enjoyable occasion. The bar will be open and refreshments on sale.
Under 18s are admitted free and adults are asked to make a £1 minimum voluntary donation at the gate. Proceeds will be donated to the Surrey Air Ambulance, in tribute to their rescue work during Luke and Neil's accident. The Air Ambulance relies on charitable donations to continue operating.
Please show your support for the cause and this annual club event by coming along and encouraging friends to join you. Last year, over 300 people attended - let's make it an even bigger crowd this year.
